Mermaid on Abalone Shell

This Mermaid is sculpted on a sustainably grown abalone shell from the Monterey Abalone Company in Monterey, California. Each piece varies from 5 1/2 to 7 1/2 inches tall and is sealed in acrylics. Gayle uses colors that resonate with the tones and sheen of the abalone shell.

Abalone are in danger of becoming extinct due to over harvesting along the California coast. Gayle and Art are committed to helping preserve and restore the abalone for future generations.
